what will it take for you to let yourself feel like the expert you are?

This question was posed to me in a horoscope reading a couple of weeks ago, and it's really stuck with me since. It brought into my awareness the quality of our relationship to our own experience, knowledge, and boldness, which I realized might not be getting due attention + cultivation.

If we wait until we reach age 90 to fully acknowledge our power, because then we've finally ripened; because age denotes wiseness, experience, and authority - what will that cost us?

There's no time left for you to play small.

What this question rustled in me was the reality that we often put a lid on how much meaning, confidence, and service we bring to the world simply because we convince ourselves -  we're not experienced enough, yet.

We can wait and live with crossed fingers, but the accumulation of time will never give you that permission, only you can do that. We are the gatekeepers to our own authority.

You're not here to be subtle, pass by, or even flow through. You're here to disrupt something with your uniqueness, your passion, and your mission. Boldness starts with you granting yourself permission.

Below you'll find a few tools to help you step fully into your authority, take the lid off your boldness, and embody your highest self.

Mantras + affirmations are powerful tools when a mindshift is necessary. It requires repetition to change pre-existing beliefs and subconscious patterning. You can write this (or create your own!) down on a post-it and place it somewhere you'll see frequently (ex: the fridge, your bathroom mirror) or you can repeat it out loud to yourself several times a day, mindfully,

I've been using the mantra:

2. WISDOM: from Marianne Williamson

One of my favorite things is when you come across a piece of writing that just perfectly sums it up. Marianne Williamson's quote below is a timeless one.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

3. MUSIC

Music has the power of vibration. It reaches into us at a cellular, energetic level. You can find a playlist I made with the theme of stepping into authority in mind. Throw it on with whatever you're doing - commuting, cooking breakfast, or doing laundry - as a reminder of your embodied boldness.

If you've been shrinking away from your fullest power, I hope this sparks something in you to change that, and take full advantage of all you have to offer and share right now in this moment. Owning our light can be a growing pain we didn't know we were denying ourselves. Give yourself the permission to feel that shift in your mind and your body; you're the only one who can.
